1. Introduction & Core Privacy Commitment

DownVox ("we", "us", or "our") operates the web-based media extractor at downvox.com. We respect your personal privacy and are committed to maintaining a transparent, secure, and privacy-first service.

This Privacy Policy outlines how we treat data when you access or use DownVox. Our fundamental architectural principle is statelessness: we do not maintain accounts, track personal identities, or store media files on our infrastructure.

2. Stateless Architecture & Zero Media Storage

DownVox functions purely as a direct extraction bridge. When you submit a public Twitter or X post URL, our system resolves the media stream location hosted on the official content delivery network (video.twimg.com or pbs.twimg.com).

We never copy, cache, or store extracted videos, audio tracks, Spaces recordings, or photographs on our servers. All downloads are piped directly from Twitter CDN servers to your device browser tray.

We do not maintain logs linking specific user IP addresses to downloaded content or URLs processed.

3. Information We Collect Automatically

Device and Browser Logs: Standard web server logs collect non-identifiable technical data such as browser type, operating system, preferred language, referring website, and timestamp to diagnose server errors and prevent automated denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

Rate-Limiting Tokens: We utilize temporary, in-memory IP rate-limiting to prevent malicious abuse and automated scraper flooding. These counters expire automatically within minutes.

Cookies and Local Preferences: We use minimal browser storage to remember your chosen interface language and theme preferences.

4. Third-Party Advertising and Analytics

To keep DownVox 100% free and accessible to all users worldwide without subscriptions, we display third-party advertisements (such as Google AdSense and programmatic advertising networks).

Advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, or unique device identifiers to serve contextual or personalized advertisements based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com) or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page (optout.networkadvertising.org).

5. GDPR & European Privacy Rights

For visitors residing within the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Because DownVox operates without user registration or database persistence of personal identifiable information (PII), we do not hold profiles or personal data archives.

You have the right to object to automated cookie profiling through your browser cookie settings. For any data protection inquiries, contact our DPO desk at privacy@downvox.com.

6. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific rights regarding personal data transparency.

DownVox does not sell or share personal consumer information for monetary consideration. We do not retain consumer browsing history linked to identifiable individuals.

7. Children’s Online Privacy Protection (COPPA)

DownVox is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please notify us immediately at privacy@downvox.com.

8. Policy Updates & Contact Details

We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological, legal, or operational updates. All changes take effect immediately upon publication.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this policy, please email privacy@downvox.com.
